Karnataka High Court

dismissed criminal proceedings against BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, delivering a verdict that critiques the manner in which the FIR was registered against him.
The case originated from Yatnal’s comments about the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi’s statements during his visit to the US. The BJP MLA allegedly questioned Gandhi’s remarks that “India is not a fair place” and made observations about his “ancestral religion”.
