BENGALURU: A drunk man kicked and beat his father to death after the latter suggested the former wear a
dhoti
instead of shorts near Bannerghatta on the southern outskirts of the city.
Both Velayudhan, 76, and his son Vinod Kumar 42, hailing from a village near Sabarimala in Kerala, lived at Janatha Colony.
Citing preliminary investigation, police said Vinod smashed his father’s head against a wall when he was sitting on a cot on Saturday night, pushed him to the floor and kicked him more than 10 times, causing his death.
However, Vimal Kumar, the younger son of Velayudhan, said Vinod also attacked his father with a knife.
