St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (SJCC) is a college in Bangalore, India operated by the Jesuits and affiliated with Bengaluru City University. St. Joseph’s College of Commerce is autonomous and allows for an independent examination system. SJCC is located on Brigade Road in central Bangalore.
St Joseph’s College traces its history back to 1882 when the Missions Etrangeres de Paris established St Joseph’s European High School. In 1937, its operations were handed to the Jesuits, and the Department of Commerce was created in 1949. In 1972, St Joseph’s College was divided into two independent colleges – St Joseph’s College of Commerce and St Joseph’s College of Business Administration – which remain under the administration of the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society.
In 1996, SJCBA started offering a two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Management with recognition from the AICTE Govt Of India. In 2014, SJCBA signed an MoU with ACCA to offer a joint BCom program. St Joseph’s Pre-University College was formed by bifurcating the pre-university sections of St Joseph’s College of Arts & Science and St Joseph’s College of Commerce.
