Abhishek Nethradhama is a world-class eye hospital located in Yelahanka, Bangalore. Abhishek Nethradhama also has a modular operation theatre with an AHU and has performed over 1,00,000 cumulative surgeries. Abhishek Nethradhama made a humble beginning on 2nd Dec 2001 with a 300 sq.ft.area clinic in Arsikere, Hassan (Dist.). It was the first exclusive private eye hospital for the taluk. With the constant support and encouragement of well-wishers, it later expanded to its present premises with a 1300 sq. ft. fully equipped eye hospital with an operating theater in the heart of Arsikere town in 2005. It was a single-doctor clinic at Arsikere managed by Dr.Hareesh KV.
In association with Prabha Eye Institute, Jayanagar, Bangalore, the tertiary services for glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy were initiated in Jan 2006 through the “Nayana” Van. We are proud to say that Abhishek Nethradhama started for the first time at the taluk level of Hassan district, a sutureless, bloodless, micro-incision phaco surgery for cataracts in 2007.
This was inspired by Dr.APJ Abdul kalam’s concept of “PURA” (Providing Urban Facilities in Rural areas) Dr.Hareesh KV was also a consultant at Rotary eye hospital, Arsikere for 9 years. Hence he had the opportunity to conduct nearly 500 eye camps in rural areas, schools, and NGOs.Abhishek Nethradhama extended its services to the native place, Doddaballapur on 29th Aug 2010. We started to evolve as a team of eye specialists to deliver the services.
To fight the battle against corneal blindness, we joined hands with Narayana Netralaya, Bangalore, and started the Dr.Rajkumar Eye collection center in Aug 2010. We are actively involved in the eye donation collection since 2010. Our team is successful in collecting 1560 eyes as of 13/08/2021.
Abhishek Nethradhama is happy to open the state-of-the-art eye hospital in the greenest, most popular, and most happening area of North Bangalore, Yelahanka’s new town in November 2011. With the concept of providing quality eye care, Abhishek Nethradhama moved into a Group practice of experienced eye surgeons trained in different sub-specialties with the collective experience of over 1,00,000 surgeries.
The Dr.Rajkumar eye donation motivation center was inaugurated at Yelahanka by our beloved, Dr.K Bhujanga Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Nethralaya on 17th November 2019. The main goal is to bridge the gap between the donor family & eye bank.
